Are you nervous or concerned about your first breast lift appointment with a plastic surgeon, or feeling unsure about what is going to transpire? Get an idea of what to expect during your first breast lift consultation, and find out what you can do to prepare.
What You Should Bring
As with any other medical consultation, it is important that you come with the paperwork required for new patient registration. This includes a photo identification card as well as any relevant health records. You should also have a written or memorized list of medications you are currently taking, and be knowledgeable about your family’s medical history. Finally, bring with you a written list of questions you have about your breast lift procedure.
What You’ll Discuss
Be prepared to answer questions about your medical and psychological well-being. You will also discuss your weight loss history and current goals, any intentions you have to become pregnant in the near future, and your expectations for your breast lift surgery results.
What Your Surgeon Will Do
Once you have discussed the above with your cosmetic surgeon, he or she will perform a breast examination. This will indicate your breast shape and size, the degree of ptosis, or sagging, you are experiencing, the current condition of your skin, the placement of your nipples, and how much breast volume you possess. At this point your cosmetic surgeon will give you your breast lift options, and supply you with several before-and-after photos of previous patients that have received the same treatment.
